These large scale topographic maps are similar to those in other countries. They contain nearly all geographical features, both natural and man-made (such as hydrography, roads, railways, boundaries, relief, areas of different plants, forests etc.) with the same density. The settlements have some characteristics of the administrative subordination. The EOTR maps are compiled in Unified National Projection (EOV) and were published between 1975 and 2000.
The topographic sheets show not only the Hungarian territories, but also border regions of the adjacent countries. The 1: 50 000 sheets meet the needs of walking and biking tourists in the region, which are not yet covered by larger scale tourist maps. The new edition of the 1:50.000 series has been published in 2004-2005.The simplest way of ordering is to mark the desired sheets on a print-out of this reference map. Prints from the internet can be made by all browser softwares.
